Peter was employed at the Algoma Steel Corporation from 1966 until his retirement in 2003. During his career, he was also a councillor for the city of Sault Ste. Marie from 1997-2003. Peter is dedicated to community involvement and continues to volunteer at the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Red Cross Society, and the United Way. Peter is a strong leader in the Sault Ste. Marie community and has been a guiding force on several different boards and committees including; Member of the Board of Directors for the Sault Area Hospital, Board Member for Cancer Care Ontario, New SAH Capital Campaign Chair, and Member and Chair of the North East Local Health Integration Network. Peter is currently a volunteer canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society, Member of Local Immigration Partnership(LIP), Chair of LIP Racial Harmony and Social Equity Committee, Member of the Journey Lottery Committee, and Co-chair of the leadership and Training Committee for the Centre for Social Justice and Good Works. Peter is a true mentor and inspires others in the community to participate and take on leadership roles.
