Brenda is a lifelong resident of Northern Ontario, she was born in Kirkland Lake, raised in Sudbury and moved to Sault Ste. Marie with her husband and three young children in 1975. Brenda had a 31-year career working in various clerical capacities at the Plummer and Sault Area Hospitals. She is an active volunteer within the community, serving as a canvasser for the United Way, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, communications chair for the Canadian Cancer Society, and a member of the Parent Teacher organizations for Holy Family School and Korah Collegiate. She was part of the Committee to Save Algoma Steel and the group who raised money for the first CAT scan machine in the area. From 2001 to 2007, Brenda served on the Board of Governors at Sault College where for two years, she chaired the Advocacy and Innovation Committee.
